The Starting Line.

Every journey begins with a start, just like every race. I like to run. I am not a marathon runner, but I do like to set personal goals. I like to run in the mornings. Sometimes it is challenging to get going. I know the run will have great physical benefits, and I will have fun listening to great music. Why then is it challenging to get started? It is challenging because of that word- "Start". To start requires change. For instance, in my case it requires me to get out of my bed and put on my running shoes. It takes commitment.

There are a couple things that help me complete what I start.

1. Look for benchmarks

I will say to myself, "I will run strong until I reach that mailbox." I then will say, "Okay...I will run until I reach that brown house with red shutters". The pattern continues. Whether running or not, look for small benchmarks to help you meet your  goals.

2.  Enjoy the run.

I love to enjoy music as I run. Picking music is important to my success. Also, looking at the nature around me is pleasant.  Long story short, if you are not enjoying what you do, it will be difficult to complete your goal. Plan things in your journey to reward and motivate yourself. Love the journey. There are lots of tools out there to help you reach the stars.

On your mark, get set, GO!! Don't look back!

You got this, reach the Stars!!
